About GIA Museum

The GIA Museum in Carlsbad introduces visitors to gems, minerals, and jewelry through exhibits spread across the campus. Current displays include Tourmaline Carvings, the Atlantis mineral specimen, a ten-foot polished slab of Tiger's-Eye Quartz, the Hauser Mineral Collection featuring variscite, an 18K gold kaleidoscope set with lattice-patterned gems, a Jewelry Collection displaying Edwardian pieces, and Riches in the Rocks showcasing amethyst and other specimens. The exhibits feature rotating items from the GIA collection alongside extraordinary pieces on loan from industry professionals and private collectors. Visitors can explore the collections throughout the campus or reserve a museum tour to learn more about the vast world of gems and jewelry. The museum displays the science and beauty behind gems and minerals through these rotating exhibits and educational experiences.
