The Elmhurst Model Railroad Club showcases three model railroad layouts depicting Midwestern scenes from the industrial transition era through modern times. Visitors can observe HO scale, HOn3 narrow gauge, and N scale layouts featuring rolling hillsides, farms, steel mills, and classification yards. The club sits steps from the Union Pacific West mainline, where freight and passenger trains pass hourly and can be viewed safely day and night from a park between the club and police station. Members enjoy daily access to the layouts and participate in swap meets, club parties, slide show nights, special run events, and visits to other layouts. The club regularly hosts open house hours when visitors can tour the facilities and observe model railroad operations. The club operates throughout the week with extended hours on weekends.
