About American Victory Ship & Museum

American Victory Ship & Museum is one of only three fully operational Victory Class World War II ships remaining, offering visitors nine decks to explore throughout a 455-by-109-foot cargo vessel. Touring the ship involves walking through cavernous three-level cargo holds, radio and gyro rooms, a hospital, galley, weaponry displays, steering stations, flying bridge, signaling equipment, wheelhouse, mess halls, crew cabins, lifeboats, captain's quarters, cargo equipment, and engine room. Rare artifacts, uniforms, medals, documents, and photographs are displayed throughout the vessel. The museum serves veterans, active military, and families interested in merchant marine history from 1775 onward. A complete tour takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes to navigate the steep ladders and narrow passageways. Service animals are welcome. The ship is located in Tampa, Florida. Children 3 and under visit free, according to americanvictory.org.
