About Ahlgrim Acres

Ahlgrim Acres in Palatine, Illinois is home to a themed miniature golf course housed in the basement of a funeral home. The 9-hole course features a haunted character throughout, with each hole designed uniquely. Players putt through an old shipping box used for rail transportation at hole 2, navigate around a windmill, guillotine, and mausoleum, and encounter a water trap at hole 9. Beyond miniature golf, the community room contains a full-size shuffleboard course, ping pong table, bumper pool table, and foosball table. Video games are also available. The space serves families and groups seeking indoor recreational activities. The unusual setting beneath a funeral home adds distinctive character, particularly around Halloween when the haunted theme intensifies. The community room remains closed during funeral services, preserving its use as a dedicated entertainment space.
