The Westmoreland County Historical Society in Greensburg operates Historic Hanna's Town, an 18th-century frontier village established in 1773 as the first seat of government for Westmoreland County. Visitors explore reconstructed and relocated buildings including Hanna's Tavern, log houses, a Revolutionary War-era fort, and a wagon shed displaying an authentic late-18th-century Conestoga wagon. The Westmoreland History Education Center hosts a research library where visitors can investigate genealogical records and original documents to trace family roots or learn about life in the county decades or centuries ago. The center also features an exhibit gallery and a museum shop selling history-inspired gifts, books, and crafts. Self-guided tours are available with printed booklets, while guided tours can be scheduled in advance. The grounds remain accessible during daylight hours. The society offers educational programs and events throughout the year. Hours are published online.
