About Vinings Historic Preservation Society

Vinings Historic Preservation Society owns and maintains three white clapboard buildings that form the heart of Atlanta's Vinings neighborhood: Pace House, built between 1865 and 1874 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places; Old Pavilion from 1874; and Yarbrough House from 1880, designated a Cobb County Historic Landmark. The organization, founded through a bequest by Ruth Carter Vanneman, a great-great-granddaughter of early settler Hardy Pace, educates visitors about local history through these preserved properties. The society operates Pace House as a venue available for rental and hosts community events throughout the year. Visitors explore these restored structures to understand Vinings' architectural heritage and the preservation efforts that protect the village's character. The organization depends on memberships, donations, volunteers, and fundraising events to maintain its three properties, making it a community-driven museum in Atlanta, Georgia.
