Tours operate most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at scheduled times, with visitors viewing the original interior and period architecture throughout the residence. The museum hosts special evening events including the Spiritualism and Lantern Light tour with historian Charles Spratley, which explores Jesse Shepard's life and the true history of spiritualism across one hour and twenty minutes for ages twelve and older. The venue also offers two-hour historical and architectural walking tours of the Sherman Heights neighborhood, where guests see the exteriors of the original Sherman farmhouse and learn about San Diego's growth from 1868 to 1930.
