USS Hornet—Sea, Air and Space Museum in Alameda occupies a restored aircraft carrier where visitors tour exhibits and explore the ship's role in World War II, the Vietnam War, and the Apollo 11 and 12 astronaut recoveries. Admission tickets are sold online, with five published price levels for adults, seniors, military personnel, students, and youth. Children six and under enter free. Docent-led daily tours offer additional context for an extra fee and require visitors to be at least 48 inches in height. The museum hosts themed group tours, paranormal events, youth overnight adventures, field trips, and distance-learning programs. Special events include yoga sessions on deck, VIP behind-the-scenes tours, and CarrierCon, a cosplay and gaming convention held on the flight deck. Those receiving SNAP food assistance benefits qualify for reduced admission of two dollars per person through the Museums for All program; present an EBT card at the admissions desk. Museum members receive five dollars off CarrierCon convention admission.
