About Springton Manor Farm

Springton Manor Farm is a 300-acre demonstration farm in Glenmoore where visitors meet animals and explore Chester County's agricultural heritage. The barn complex includes the Great Barn, sheep shed, goat shed, roost and equipment shed, where guests encounter horses, donkeys, rabbits, calves, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens and peacocks. The Family Farm Museum, located within the Great Barn, displays seasonal tools and apparatus used on Chester County farms from the 1700s through the 1900s. Visitors can take guided farm tours to learn about the property's history as a William Penn Manor that has been in continuous agricultural use since the early 1700s. The landscape features fenced fields, stone walls, centuries-old sugar maples, open pastures and Penn Oaks surrounding a lower pond. Trails wind through the grounds for walking, and fishing is available. The manor house and carriage house overlook the preserved property, which represents a patchwork of colonial plantation, Industrial Revolution era scientific farm, Victorian tenant farm and gentleman's country estate.
