The Spellman Museum of Forney History occupies historic downtown buildings where visitors explore exhibits documenting Forney and Kaufman County from Native Americans through early settlers, agriculture, transportation, and schools. The main gallery displays photos, murals, artifacts, and interactive exhibits arranged in roughly chronological order. A rotating exhibits room hosts temporary themed displays and borrowed or curated collections. The museum also features an extensive collection of artwork by Coreen Spellman, a noted regional artist and Forney native whose pieces rotate on display. Visitors can tour at their own pace, with quick visits taking about fifteen minutes or longer visits allowing time to read all exhibit text. Guided group tours accommodate schools, homeschools, seniors, and scouts. The museum is located in Forney, Texas, and is ADA accessible with one low threshold at the entrance and all exhibits on one level.
Admission is free. The venue says: “Museum admission is free for all visitors.”
Hours: Wednesday 11AM-6PM, Thursday 11AM-8PM, Friday 11AM-6PM, Saturday 11AM-6PM
