About Rockwall County Historical Foundation Museum

The Rockwall County Historical Foundation Museum sits within Harry Myers Park in downtown Rockwall and invites visitors to explore structures from early county history through guided or self-guided tours. The museum grounds feature the Manson House and Bailey House, each requiring 20 to 45 minutes to tour, along with a Tenant Cabin viewable in 10 to 15 minutes. Visitors also encounter a replica carriage house, original outhouse, Hartman Windmill, and gazebo. An original segment of the rock wall that gave the county its name stands on the property, alongside the Blackland Prairie Grassland preservation project of native grasses and wildflowers. General admission is free. Guided tours run until 2:30 p.m., and groups larger than ten people should schedule in advance. Young children must remain with a guardian at all times. The Tenant Cabin is not wheelchair accessible, while both historic houses are reached through the back parking lot.
