About Rhoneymeade
Rhoneymeade Arboretum & Sculpture Garden in Centre Hall combines cultivated landscapes with natural surroundings on 150 acres straddling a ridge between Nittany and Tussey Mountains. Visitors walk through farmland, forest, gardens, and meadows while viewing sculptures integrated throughout the arboretum. The property centers on a brick farmhouse completed in 1853, which remains on-site as a historical landmark. Originally settled in 1794 and continuously farmed for over 200 years, the land was purchased by retired Penn State professor Dr. Richard Morgan in 1984, who began landscaping and established the property as a nonprofit organization in 1989. The grounds are open during daylight hours Wednesday through Sunday. An on-site studio and exhibit space operates during staff hours. Guided arboretum and sculpture garden tours are available by arrangement. The combination of cultivated gardens, woodland walking paths, and outdoor art installations suits visitors seeking a blend of nature, horticulture, and contemporary art in a rural Pennsylvania setting.
