About Blue Spruce Park
Blue Spruce Park is a 650-acre public park located six miles north of Indiana, Pennsylvania, offering hiking, skiing, fishing, and hunting across diverse terrain. The park features over five miles of trails, including the level Getty Run Trail suitable for beginning skiers and more challenging routes such as Vista Ridge, PCC, and Aspen trails. A 12-acre lake stocked with trout provides fishing opportunities. Bird-watching is popular throughout the park using a comprehensive bird list compiled from Todd Bird Club data. The park contains the Cummings Dam and an historical marker honoring Bernice Gera, the first female umpire in professional baseball. Four pavilions accommodating 35 to 250 people and two lodges—Blue Spruce Lodge for 100 people and Lakeside Center for 50 people—are available for gatherings. Hunting is permitted in designated areas during specified seasons.
