The Rae House Museum in Galt, California preserves local history through exhibits housed within a historic residence. The Galt Area Historical Society operates the museum to document regional heritage from Galt and surrounding communities including Arno, Clay, Colony, Elliott, Herald, Hicksville, Liberty and Thornton. Visitors explore artifacts and displays that chronicle the area's past and cultural development. The museum accepts family artifacts and historical photographs for donation and preservation. Guests can arrange tours during regularly scheduled hours or request private visits by appointment. The society's historian is available to answer questions about local history and help researchers access the museum's collections. The Rae House Museum serves the community as a resource for understanding the region's heritage and historical significance.
Hours: The Museum is open on the first Sunday of the month from April to December, from 1:00 - 4:00 PM.
