About Castle Air Museum

Castle Air Museum in Atwater preserves military aviation history through exhibits of aircraft and historical artifacts spanning from pre-WWII to present day. Visitors explore more than 80 aircraft displayed throughout the museum grounds, each with its own historical narrative. The collection includes the VC-9 Presidential Aircraft, which opens for tours on weekends when weather permits. The museum accommodates individual visitors as well as organized groups and school tours, with docent-led experiences available. Guests can walk among the aircraft exhibit areas and learn about advanced aerospace technologies and military heritage. The museum grounds are located adjacent to Castle Airport in the San Joaquin Valley. Solo visitors, families, students, and aviation enthusiasts find the museum suitable for immersing themselves in the history and stories of military aircraft and the people who flew them.
