About Purple Goat Gardens

Purple Goat Gardens offers visitors hands-on farm experiences centered on goats and chickens in Austinburg. Guests can meet the herd and learn to milk a doe, hike wooded trails where goats browse alongside visitors, check for parasites under a microscope, trim hooves, and ration grain by weight. At the chicken palace, visitors identify nine breeds including rare Ayam Cemanis—Indonesian black chickens with black beaks, combs, tongues and skin—and Bielefelders known for their friendliness. Guests feed hens by hand, watch them hunt bugs, and may find eggs in nesting boxes. The site includes a Boardgame Barn, Pottery Studio, and Soap-making demonstrations. Programs range from Nature Preschool and Toddler Time to Kids Camp and private tours. School and camp groups can arrange visits. Seasonal events like the Fall Festival feature goat hikes, community art projects, tie-dye, face painting, and a kids' Pumpkin Hunt. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
