The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway features the world's largest rotating tram car, which travels over two-and-one-half miles along the cliffs of Chino Canyon during an approximately ten-minute journey. The tram car rotates slowly throughout the ascent, offering views of the valley floor below. The tramway transports riders to the pristine wilderness of Mount San Jacinto State Park at an elevation of 8,516 feet. At the Mountain Station, visitors find two restaurants—Pines Café, a cafeteria-style restaurant, and Peaks Restaurant—plus the Lookout Lounge, observation decks, a State Park Visitors Center, a natural history museum, two documentary theaters, and a gift shop. The area offers over 50 miles of hiking trails ranging from easy walks to more strenuous summit hikes. Visitors can dine while viewing the valley from the mountain elevation or explore exhibits at the museum and visitor center.
