About Sunnylands Historic Estate Tours

Sunnylands Historic Estate Tours offers guided exploration of the 25,000-square-foot midcentury modern home and 200-acre estate of former Ambassadors Walter and Leonore Annenberg in Rancho Mirage. Visitors choose between Historic House Tours to explore the winter residence with a guide, or Open-Air Experience shuttle rides across the grounds. The adjoining Sunnylands Center & Gardens provides free general admission and welcomes visitors Wednesday through Sunday to stroll gardens, relax on benches, and listen to prerecorded audio walks using a personal mobile device. Community programs throughout the season include art workshops, wellness activities like meditation sessions, film screenings in the gardens, and music events. The estate functions as a diplomatic venue where world leaders convene, reflecting its founding mission to promote peace and international agreement. Wheelchairs and walkers are available to borrow, accessible restrooms and entrances accommodate visitors with mobility needs, and parking is free with electric vehicle charging stations available.
