About Oak Ridge Art Center
Oak Ridge Art Center is a fine art museum and educational facility in Oak Ridge that has served the community since 1952. Visitors explore galleries displaying five to six rotating shows annually, including the annual Open Show featuring work from amateur and professional artists. General admission to the galleries is free, and studio tours are available. The center offers eight-week classes in clay, painting, watercolor, oil, weaving, metalsmithing, and mixed media, scheduled for morning, afternoon, and evening sessions to accommodate various schedules. Most classes welcome all experience levels. Throughout the year, weekend workshops in subjects like glass fusing, enameling, silversmithing, woodcarving, and silk painting provide shorter-term instruction for those unable to commit to full courses. The permanent collection spans over two thousand years and includes regional and international artists such as Renoir and Dali. The center draws students from across Tennessee and beyond.
