The K-25 History Center in Oak Ridge tells the story of the uranium enrichment plant that produced fuel for atomic bombs during World War II. Visitors receive a security badge to enter interactive galleries that explore the Manhattan Project, the construction of Clinton Engineer Works, and the secret city of Oak Ridge. Exhibits guide guests through the wartime origins of the K-25 Plant, its gaseous diffusion process for enriching uranium, and its postwar expansion as the Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant. The 7,500 square foot facility displays more than 250 original artifacts alongside nearly 1,000 recorded oral histories from former employees. Interactive elements allow visitors to try running K-25 themselves and reflect on the atomic bomb's global impact. The center suits adults and older children and is family friendly. It operates Monday through Saturday mornings through early evening, and Sunday afternoons through early evening, located on Enrichment Street in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
