About National Museum of Funeral History

National Museum of Funeral History displays America's largest collection of historical hearses, tracing funeral vehicles from 19th-century horse-drawn carriages to those used in the state funerals of Presidents Ronald Reagan and Gerald R. Ford, as well as Grace Kelly's service. Visitors tour 15 exhibits over two to four hours, exploring caskets, coffins, and a certified replica of the Shroud of Turin on permanent display. The museum also features patent models and exhibits on presidential and papal funerals. The self-guided experience suits children over age seven and offers educational opportunities without gruesome displays. The museum is fully wheelchair accessible with free parking on site. Located in Houston, Texas, it opens Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended weekend hours published on the website. Children ages five and under enter free, while admission for other ages is listed on nmfh.org.
