About Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach celebrates a century-old connection between Japan and South Florida through rotating gallery exhibitions, traditional Japanese architecture, and immersive cultural experiences. The 16-acre grounds feature Roji-en, six distinct historical gardens reflecting different Japanese styles arranged in one harmonious landscape. Inside, the Yamato-kan building, modeled after a Japanese villa, surrounds an open-air courtyard with a dry garden. The principal museum building houses three exhibition galleries displaying nearly 7,500 art objects and artifacts including tea ceremony items and textiles. An authentic tea house and theater complement the experience. The Cornell Café serves refreshments on the grounds. Monthly tea ceremonies are performed, and the museum offers educational programs alongside special events and exhibitions.
