Founded in 1964, the Delray Beach Historical Society preserves and shares the area's past through exhibitions and educational programs. Visitors explore three main exhibits: La Florida, which traces indigenous civilizations and settlement through the Civil War; Delray Beach: The Last Frontier, covering pioneer experiences, land development, and architecture; and The Land of Sunshine & Dreams, documenting the 1950s and 1960s with a movie screening room and media center featuring documentaries and concerts. The one-acre Heritage Garden offers self-guided tours highlighting Florida native plants, local ecology, and sustainability. The City Archive contains over 65,000 artifacts, textiles, records, and oral histories. School and group tours are available with customized classes, discussions, and craft activities. General admission is free. The society is located in Delray Beach, Florida, and operates as a community center connecting families and generations to local history.
Admission is free. The venue says: “Free entrance through September 30th, 2026.”
