The Lanterman House, built in 1915, is a National Register historic home in La Cañada Flintridge now operated as a museum by the Lanterman Historical Museum Foundation. Visitors tour the residence of Dr. Roy Lanterman, his wife Emily, and their two sons, exploring the original furnishings and decorative arts collections throughout the house. The museum showcases restored hand-painted interior murals, including decorative work in the Breakfast Room, along with recreated period wallpapers, draperies, and floor coverings. Outside, the grounds feature period gardens, a restored courtyard, and a recreated pond and fountain. The Lanterman Native Plant Garden is also available for visitors to explore. The museum offers individual house tours, group tours for school and scout organizations, educational programs, exhibitions, and an oral history program.
