Lake Snowden is a 675-acre education and recreation park in Albany, Ohio, centered on a 136-acre lake. Visitors camp at the grounds, fish from shoreline holes or boats, swim at the beach, and picnic at shelter houses. The park features a fish hatchery and restroom facilities throughout the grounds. Boating and horse trails extend the range of activities available. The lake was built in 1968 as part of the Margaret Creek Conservancy District to control flooding and opened to the public in 1972. Hocking College has operated the property since 1998. The serene natural setting sits just five miles from Athens, making it accessible for day visits or overnight camping trips.
