La Jolla Playhouse presents world-premiere plays and musicals on the UCSD campus in La Jolla, where audiences attend theatrical performances including current productions like "A Black-billed Cuckoo" and "GRIM." Visitors can design custom three-show subscription packages, attend matinee workshops for children ages 7-12 while parents watch performances, or join interactive adult classes. The Playhouse offers lower-priced tickets ranging from $30 to $45 for most performances, rush tickets at 50% discount for full-time students, active military, and seniors 62 and older, and subscriptions providing savings of around 25% or more on single ticket prices plus free parking. Pre-show dining is available at nearby Dora Ristorante, which offers a dedicated pre-theater menu. Concessions open an hour before showtime with beer, wine, cocktails and snacks.
