About Jack London State Historic Park

Jack London State Historic Park preserves the home and ranch of the renowned author, famous for his literary works and adventurous life. Visitors walk, hike, mountain bike, horseback ride, bird watch, take photographs, paint, and picnic across the property. The park's centerpiece is the Wolf House Ruins, the massive masonry remains of Jack London's 15,000-square-foot dream house designed by architect Albert L. Farr. The structure featured 26 rooms, nine fireplaces, a 19-by-40-foot library, a two-story living room measuring 18 by 58 feet, electric lighting, refrigeration, built-in vacuum cleaning, laundry facilities, and a wine cellar. The park hosts guided programs including nature walks focused on wildflowers and botanical features. Visitors can explore Jack London's legacy through exhibits and learn about his life and literary accomplishments. The park suits those interested in history, nature, and outdoor recreation.
