About Locke Boarding House Museum

The Locke Boarding House Museum in Walnut Grove is a historical structure built in 1909, predating the formal establishment of the town of Locke itself. Visitors explore the restored boarding house, which once served migrant agricultural workers and operated under its former name, the Jack Ross Boardinghouse. The museum functions as a cultural and historical site within California State Parks, open Fridays through Sundays from 11am to 4pm. Fourth graders and their families receive free entry through California's 4th Grade Pass at this location. Senior Golden Bear Pass holders and their spouse or domestic partner can visit free during non-peak season for $20.
