About International Women’s Air & Space Museum

The International Women's Air & Space Museum collects, preserves, and showcases the history of women in aviation and aerospace. Visitors explore exhibits featuring artifacts, photographs, textiles, and artwork that document women's contributions to flight and space exploration. The museum displays an exhibit about thirteen women who underwent secret astronaut testing in 1960. The Fay Gillis Wells Research Center holds the collection and is available for research. Guided tours led by staff and docents last approximately sixty minutes and provide in-depth narratives of women aviators and astronauts. The museum offers speaker bureau programs on topics including the history of women in aviation, the early space program, women in World War II aviation, and the Women Airforce Service Pilots. These programs run forty to fifty minutes and are available in person or virtually. Exhibits are open seven days a week for self-guided exploration. General admission is free. The museum is located at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland, Ohio.
