About International Towing & Recovery Museum

International Towing & Recovery Museum displays 24 tow trucks ranging from a 1913 Cadillac to 2002 models, telling the history of the towing industry from its invention by Ernest Holmes Sr. Visitors start in a theater room with old-style movie seating for a brief history of the tow truck's evolution, then take a self-guided tour through the collection. The museum also houses the world's largest toy tow truck collection, vintage gas pumps, and pedal cars. Children can operate Tator Tot, an interactive mini tow truck, while automotive enthusiasts view the World's Fastest tow truck that reached 109 mph at Talladega Speedway. The venue accommodates school trips, car clubs, and bus tours. Children under five receive free admission when accompanied by an adult.
