The Historical Society of the Cocalico Valley operates the Theodore R. Sprecher Museum in Ephrata, where visitors explore local history through exhibits and special programs. The museum features "The Many Faces of Freedom," a permanent exhibit focused on the Revolutionary War and its impact on everyday citizens in the Cocalico Valley, with period artifacts on display. Visitors can encounter Revolutionary War reenactors portraying German Continental soldiers who share knowledge about the era. The society also hosts the Ephrata Shadows historic ghost walk, a guided evening tour through downtown that reveals local legends and unexplained happenings while exploring the true history behind historic buildings. These walking tours depart from either the East End or West End of downtown and are led by a cloaked guide through small groups. General admission to the museum is free, and the facility welcomes families and history enthusiasts interested in the region's colonial and Revolutionary War heritage.
