The Johnston-Felton-Hay House in Macon is a National Historic Landmark completed in 1859 in Italian Renaissance Revival style. Visitors tour this architectural masterpiece to see its decorative finishes, stained-glass windows, and faux finishes while learning about the home's architectural, cultural, and social history. The regular guided tour explores the first three levels and lasts about one hour. The Behind-the-Scenes tour spans all seven levels, allowing visitors to access areas unavailable on standard tours, step onto the balcony, view collection and architectural storage spaces, and enjoy a 360-degree view of Macon from the widow's walk. Specialty experiences include Legends and Lore, an evening program exploring the home's intriguing accounts, and Haunts and History on the Hill, a walking ghost tour of the neighborhood. School tours connect history and preservation with classroom learning. The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation operates the house as a museum in Macon, Georgia.
