About Museum of Arts and Sciences

The Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon features rotating fine art galleries alongside interactive science exhibits in the Discovery House. The Mark Smith Planetarium offers three daily full-dome shows tailored to different age groups, from animated family features for ages three and up to live sky tours with space exploration programs for ages eight and older. The mini-zoo provides live animal experiences, while the Sweet Gum Trail connects visitors with outdoor natural spaces. A Science on a Sphere display and gyroscope rides round out the hands-on attractions. Daily planetarium shows run at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. on operating days. Live animal experiences occur at 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday. The museum welcomes groups of seven or more visitors and accommodates school field trips for PreK through grade twelve students.
