Cannonball House is a museum in a National Register townhouse built in 1853, where visitors take 45-minute guided tours through period rooms and learn Civil War history. Tours cover the main house, brick kitchen, and servants' quarters, passing the foyer with its twelve-foot ceilings and 1850s rosewood piano, the front parlor displaying paintings by Lizzie Canning, the ladies' bedroom with hand-tatted coverlets and mourning wreaths, Judge Asa Holt's room overlooking the artillery shell's path, and the formal dining room with sterling silver pieces. The museum holds the Sidney Lanier collection and special exhibits of artifacts from Georgia's antebellum and Reconstruction eras.
