The Greensboro History Museum in downtown Greensboro invites visitors to explore the city's past through award-winning exhibitions and engaging collections. The museum features several permanent and rotating exhibitions, including GHM100: Treasures. Legacies. Remix, which showcases rarely seen items from the museum's collections, and Voices of a City: Greensboro North Carolina, presenting the city's history through resident perspectives. Visitors can experience Welcome to the Gate City!, a hands-on, family-friendly exhibition exploring early 1900s Greensboro, and Belle Meade Historic Rooms, period rooms recreated from an 1867 Italianate house. The museum also presents What's In Greensboro's Closet in #ThisJustIn, featuring newly acquired objects and archival items. Throughout the year, the museum hosts special programs including family festival days, talks with historians and community experts, and after-hours events. Group tours and field trips are available for students, teachers, and community organizations. General admission is free. The museum is located at the intersection of Summit Avenue and East Lindsay Street.
