About Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society
Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society operates historic houses and sites where visitors tour buildings and grounds to learn about local heritage. The Sands-Willets House welcomes school groups and individuals to explore a period home on the society's land. The Dodge Homestead House offers guided tours of a historic residence. A 300-year-old Dutch Barn, newly available for tours, preserves early agricultural architecture. The society conducts walking tours through the Mill Pond Historic District and along Manhasset Bay, allowing visitors to discover neighborhoods on foot. Exhibitions such as "Cow Neck in the Revolution," created in partnership with the Port Washington Library, examine regional history through displays and artifacts. The society covers Port Washington, Sands Point, Flower Hill, Plandome, and portions of Manhasset and Roslyn. School groups, families, and history enthusiasts find structured activities including house tours and walking routes that connect them to the area's colonial and early American past.
