About Corriganville Park

Corriganville Park in Simi Valley preserves the historical remains of a 1942 movie studio where westerns and adventure films were shot, including Fort Apache with John Wayne and Jungle Jim with Johnny Weissmuller. Visitors explore hiking trails that wind through the 150-acre property, passing the ruins of western-style structures, a fort, and an English Tudor house that once served as movie sets. The park features rock formations, oak groves, open spaces, and a lake with a bridge. Covered and uncovered picnic tables are available throughout the grounds. The landscape shows recovery from major fires, with native vegetation returning to most areas. The park opens from dawn to dusk daily and welcomes individual visitors and families seeking outdoor recreation combined with film history exploration. Groups interested in special events can arrange bookings to use designated areas.
