Stagecoach Inn Museum, Newbury Park

About Stagecoach Inn Museum

Stagecoach Inn Museum preserves the 1874 Grand Union Hotel, originally built as a rest stop for stagecoach passengers in what became Newbury Park, California. Visitors tour the historic building and explore exhibits spanning Chumash history, Spanish land grants, and the valley's founding families—the Newburys, Hammels, Hunts, and Edwards. The museum grounds feature a Pioneer House, Adobe, Timber School, and Chuck Wagon with Blacksmith shop, alongside rotating cultural exhibits including Hispanic Heritage and Chumash displays. Craft classes and special events such as Voices of Old Conejo, an interactive whodunit performance, draw families and history enthusiasts. The museum opens Wednesdays and Saturdays. Admission is charged at published rates. Docents and volunteers bring 1 guest per visit at 50% discount to tour the museum, according to stagecoachinnmuseum.com.
