The VFW Military History Museum in Simi Valley welcomes the general public, veterans, and active military personnel to explore displays spanning American military history from World War I through the War on Terrorism, including exhibits on Korea and Vietnam. Visitors encounter hundreds of military posters and historical artifacts donated by local veterans and collectors, including Vietnam-era weapons, munitions, military gear from all eras, 100-year-old posters, World War II newspapers, and uniforms arranged in historical sequence. Vietnam veterans volunteer as tour guides for the public. The museum serves an educational purpose, with high school and elementary school students frequently visiting for history class projects or personal interest. Present military personnel can meet with the VFW Post 10049 Service Officer on Wednesdays from noon to 3 p.m. to initiate Veterans Administration registration or work on claims documentation.
