Cincinnati Observatory in Cincinnati, Ohio is the country's oldest observatory, where visitors observe the night sky through telescopes and learn about astronomy. The observatory offers Astronomy Evenings, Family Astronomy Night, and special star parties where guests can look through telescopes. The facility features the Clark telescope and the Mitchel building, which remains open to visitors. The observatory also operates an inflatable Starlab planetarium for members and conducts historic district tours of the grounds. Programs include talks by Dr. Wes and community events held at various locations throughout the area. Currently undergoing renovation, the observatory continues offering nighttime programs and family-friendly activities. The Herget building and museum spaces are temporarily unavailable, but the Mitchell building remains accessible. Visitors can register for events and purchase tickets online through the observatory's website.
