About Charles Hall Museum
The Charles Hall Museum & Heritage Center in Tellico Plains preserves Native American, Appalachian, and local history across two buildings filled with artifacts collected since opening in 2003. Visitors explore over 10,000 items including 330 historical firearms ranging from a 450-year-old matchlock musket to Civil War and World War relics, antique coins and currency from half-cent to gold certificates, Native American tools and pottery, and antique telephones and equipment. Building 1 displays military memorabilia and artifacts from the Tellico Iron Works, while Building 2 houses additional collections and the Museum Marketplace. The museum operates as a Trail of Tears National Historic Trail certified site and hosts community events including Cherokee storytelling and dance performances at the Performance Pavilion. School groups regularly visit on educational field trips. General admission is free. The museum is located on Cherohala Skyway in Tellico Plains.
