Brookshire's Wildlife Museum in Tyler features 150 species of mammals, reptiles, birds, and aquatic wildlife displayed in realistic dioramas with educational information. Visitors encounter a 10-foot polar bear, American bison, African lions, and several varieties of bears among the exhibits representing North America, the Arctic, and Africa. The museum tour takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. An attached replica Country Store displays grocery items from the 1920s, offering a nostalgic view of retail from that era. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Groups up to 30 can tour together, with larger groups also welcome, making the museum suitable for schools, clubs, and community organizations. A reservation is required before visiting. Service animals are permitted, but pets are not allowed on the grounds.
Admission is free. The venue says: “Admission is free as a community service of Brookshire Communities Foundation and Brookshire Grocery Company.”
Hours: Tuesday – Saturday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
