The West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center in Brownsville celebrates the music, culture and history of Tennessee's Delta region through more than 8,000 square feet of exhibitions. The centerpiece is the world's only Tina Turner Museum, located inside her childhood school, Flagg Grove School, displaying costumes, gold records and memorabilia. Visitors also tour the last home of blues pioneer "Sleepy" John Estes. The center features exhibits on West Tennessee cotton production dating to the early 1800s, the scenic Hatchie River and three freshwater aquariums. Guided tours are available for individuals and groups, with self-guided options also offered. A unique gift shop stocks handmade and regionally-produced items. The facility provides free WiFi and serves as an information hub where staff help visitors with directions and details about area attractions. Located off Interstate 40 between Memphis and Nashville, the center welcomes school groups, tour buses and families exploring rural West Tennessee's heritage.
