West County Museum explores Sebastopol's grocery markets from 1890 to the present day through photographs, vintage product containers, current packing boxes, and loaned artifacts including an eight-foot street sign and antique counter scales. The small volunteer-run museum in downtown Sebastopol features permanent exhibits on the region's original Pomo native settlers, early agricultural history, and the horticulturist Luther Burbank's local connection. Rotating exhibits highlight different aspects of West Sonoma County heritage throughout the year. The museum houses over eight thousand donated photographs documenting local history, available for visitors to explore. A small gift shop and informed volunteers are on hand to answer questions about the collections. The museum opens Saturdays and Sundays, with hours published on the venue's site. It is located on South Main Street in Sebastopol, next to the Chamber of Commerce and across from the post office.
Admission is free. The venue says: “Free and open to the public”
Hours: Saturday and Sunday, 11 am – 2 pm
