The California Indian Museum and Cultural Center in Santa Rosa honors the cultural vitality and sovereignty of California Indians through exhibits and educational programs. Visitors explore displays showcasing California Indian histories, cultures, and contemporary leadership, with exhibits presented through Native perspectives and voices. The center operates a Youth Resource Center and houses the Center for Resilient Native Generations, a resilience hub supporting Native communities. Programs focus on climate resilience, cultural continuity, and wellness, including the California Indian Traditional Food Incubator, which expands access to traditional foods and supports Native food producers across the state. Educational offerings feature curricula such as California Native Perspectives and resources addressing issues facing Native American youth. The museum serves as a cultural home for Native elders, artists, and culture-bearers to share their knowledge and perspectives. The center combines intergenerational knowledge with opportunities for new generations to engage with traditional lifeways and future innovation.
