About Waldensian Heritage Museum

The Waldensian Heritage Museum in Valdese houses the largest collection of Waldensian artifacts in the United States. Visitors begin with a short video in the orientation room that introduces the history of the Waldensian people, then proceed through the spacious museum led by a docent. The exhibits explore the struggles, sacrifices, and courage of the Waldensian faith community in the European valleys and their role in founding Reformed Theology. The museum reflects Waldensian architecture and allows visitors to retrace the Waldensian journey through Europe and their legacy. The museum offers both guided tours, which last approximately one and a half hours, and self-guided options. A genealogy service helps visitors research family connections. The gift shop offers items related to Waldensian heritage. The museum charges admission, with prices available online, and hosts the annual Waldensian Festival.
