The Asheville Museum of Science is Western North Carolina's center for hands-on science learning and exploration. Visitors of all ages interact with exhibits featuring dinosaur fossils, rock and mineral specimens, and interactive climate displays. Young learners ages three through twelve find particular appeal in the museum's programs designed to spark imagination and foster curiosity about the natural world. The facility includes a STEAM Lab where visitors conduct experiments and investigations. Special exhibitions rotate through the space, with past exhibits exploring women in STEAM careers and planetary change. The museum also hosts special events including Halloween-themed After Hours programs that explore local lore and mysteries through storytelling and scientific inquiry. Birthday parties can be arranged with exclusive access to the STEAM Lab and exhibit areas. Located in downtown Asheville, the Asheville Museum of Science operates throughout the week and weekends.
