About Tregembo Animal Park

Tregembo Animal Park in Wilmington, North Carolina is the oldest zoo in southeastern North Carolina, owned and operated by the Tregembo family since 1952. Visitors walk through exhibits housing over 100 species of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians, including prehensile-tail porcupines, snow macaques, white Bengal tigers and two-toed sloths. The park spans 4,000 square feet and includes a gift shop carrying clothing, toys and nautical items. A mini museum on the grounds displays dinosaur bones, fossils and historical artifacts for visitors to examine. School and church groups can arrange guided visits. The park charges admission at two published rates. The facility operates during summer and fall seasons, with hours and seasonal schedules available on the venue's website. Admission is weather permitting.
