About The Preserve
The Preserve in Fredericksburg offers interactive wildlife experiences centered on Asian elephants and animals from Australia and Africa. During the Elephant Experience, visitors meet Asian elephants, help bathe them, learn about grooming and foot care, and photograph the animals during a 1.5-hour outdoor walking tour. The Animal Expedition takes guests through an Australian Walkabout to encounter kangaroos, wallabies, and Australian birds, then concludes with the opportunity to feed giraffes and learn about their care. Both programs include education on animal conservation and the ecosystems these species inhabit. Visitors pet some animals they meet and have photography opportunities throughout. These interactive experiences suit families and anyone seeking close encounters with exotic wildlife. Children under age three receive free admission to both programs. Tickets are sold online through the attraction's website.
