About Spring Hope Historical Museum

The Spring Hope Historical Museum occupies a shotgun house, a popular southern architectural style from the Civil War era through the 1920s. Visitors explore exhibits of antique furniture and memorabilia from the late 1800s through the 1920s, learning about local architecture and the town's distinctive character as the Town of Many Gables. The museum features rotating exhibits that have included displays on spring hope schools from the 1920s through the 1960s, the architecture of spring hope, southern nash high school history, and local businesses past and present. Museum staff and docents assist visitors researching genealogy and other topics related to spring hope history. The museum, founded by the spring hope historical association and opened in 1989 for the town's centennial celebration, also offers tours of the historic district by appointment.
